Jackson Co., MO – Fatal Crash on US 50 at Route F

Jackson County, MO (December 25, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision on US 50 Westbound at Route F claimed one life and left two others seriously injured on Saturday evening. The crash was reported around 7:44 p.m. and involved three vehicles, including two Chevrolet Silverados and a Ford F-150.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado attempted to cross the westbound lanes of US 50 and entered the path of a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact caused the first vehicle to slide into a 2019 Ford F-150.

An 85-year-old male occupant of the 1997 Chevrolet Silverado sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at Centerpoint Hospital at 8:34 p.m. by Dr. L. Byerly. A 54-year-old male occupant of the same vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, a 66-year-old male from Sedalia, MO, sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment on the scene. However, a 66-year-old female occupant of the same vehicle was seriously injured and transported to the hospital by emergency services. The crash remains under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, with assistance from local law enforcement and emergency responders.
