Lafayette Co., MO – Two Injured in Head-On Crash at Klondike & Hwy NN

Lafayette Co., MO (March 6, 2025) – A serious head-on collision in Lafayette County sent two people to the hospital on Monday afternoon. The accident occurred at approximately 2:32 p.m. at the intersection of Klondike and Highway NN.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 57-year-old man from Sweet Springs, veered across the center of the roadway and crashed head-on into a northbound 2001 Honda Civic. The driver of the Civic, a 39-year-old woman from Miami, Missouri, was severely injured in the collision.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene, and Air Evac transported the female driver to MU Hospital for treatment. The male driver of the Equinox sustained moderate injuries as well and was taken to MU Hospital by Saline County EMS. Both vehicles were totaled and had to be towed from the crash site.

Authorities are investigating what led the Chevrolet to cross the centerline.
