Pineville, MO (February 26, 2025) – A fatal head-on collision on Interstate 49 claimed the lives of three people late Sunday night, February 23.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on February 23, about 8.8 miles north of the Missouri-Arkansas border. A 43-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kansas, were traveling northbound when a southbound vehicle, driven by a 63-year-old woman from Bella Vista, Arkansas, collided with them head-on.

Despite all three individuals wearing seatbelts, the force of the crash resulted in fatal injuries. The McDonald County deputy coroner pronounced them deceased about 30 minutes after the collision.
